How does Tecton version its packages?

Updated:

An explanation of how Tecton versions and releases its npm packages.

Tecton releases the following packages with each version:

  • q2-design-system
  • q2-tecton-framework-wrappers
  • q2-tecton-sdk
  • q2-tecton-platform

All Tecton packages move together.

We've chosen a mono-repo approach to keep things consistent across the board. This means that when we release updates, all packages get the same version number. Why? Because it makes managing and communicating changes simpler. With a unified version number, it's easier for you to follow release notes and documentation and make the most of new features and improvements.

Tecton follows semantic versioning when releasing packages.

What this means for you...

  • **MAJOR **releases introduce significant changes like foundational features or breaking changes.
  • **MINOR **releases introduce smaller, backward-compatible improvements and additions.
  • PATCH releases introduce bug fixes and/or small adjustments to existing functionality.
